I am not sure if it will be my favorite campground or not (since I haven't camped there yet) but we are planning a camp out this May and hope to have some more pictures and reviews. It is a beautiful campground nestled deep in McCreary county Ky. The sister campground on the opposite side of the road is Deer Loop and is more secluded than Raccoon loop. Both are part of the Great Meadows campground in McCreary County. Raccoon loop has a creek (Rock Creek) running through the backside of the campground and the running water is bound to make for an enjoyable time of fishing, and relaxation. It is a known trout stream so remember your trout stamp. I think we are even going to try the kayaks out to see if it is runnable or not . With a vast array of hiking trails in the area along with the creek and near by Big South Fork River, I think it will be a quite promising time of rest and relaxation. www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/dbnf/recreation/camping-cabins/recarea/?recid=39722&actid=31Anyone that has reviews of the campground or things to do around it, let us know.
